Clarett R. Forbes

Born March 9, 1938 in Top Hill, St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, West Indies
Departed May 24, 2024 in Palm Bay, Florida

Clarett R. Forbes, a beloved wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2024 at home.

Anyone who knew her would tell you she knew and loved God, had a hard work ethic, believed one should take time to gather the tools that would enable self sufficiency, which for her started with education. She valued learning and knew that a good foundation could lead to success on any chosen path.

She was a source of strength and support to all who knew her, and she will be deeply missed. Clarett is survived by her husband Derrick; sisters Lena and Naomi; brothers Clinvern and Ranley; children Ricky and Erica; and grandchildren Derrick III, Jeanelle and Parker who will always remember her as a loving and devoted matriarch.

We take comfort in knowing that she is now at peace, and we will hold her in our hearts forever.

Clarett’s celebration of life will be on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at 10 am at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 50 West Strawbridge Avenue, Melbourne, Florida 32901.

Please consider donations, in lieu of flowers, in her memory to the Holy Trinity Altar Guild:

As a kid in NJ, I loved going to Aunt Claret and Uncle Derrick's house growing up. Spending time with them and Ricky and Erica are some of my fondest memories. I was able to visit her and Uncle Derrick only a handful of times over the last several years, but they were visits I looked forward to and enjoyed. May she rest in the sweetest peace now and the family be comforted by many loving memories. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
