Beloved Husband, Stepfather, Brother, Uncle, Grandfather and Friend.

Domenic Punzi, affectionately known as “Blackie” and “Pappy,” passed away peacefully at his home in Melbourne Beach, Florida, on September 3, 2025. He was 85 years old.

Born with a generous spirit and a deep love for family, Domenic will be remembered as one of the most caring, kindhearted men by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He was devoted to his late wife, Rita Noe Punzi, to whom he was a loving and steadfast caregiver. His life was marked by compassion, generosity, and the joy he found in family gatherings, children, and family pets.

For 34 years, Domenic built a distinguished career in the theater industry, working at many of New York’s most iconic venues. His professional journey took him through Loew’s State Theater, Aqueduct Racetrack, Yonkers Racetrack, The Hudson Theater, and Madison Square Garden. He was a proud member of the Treasurer’s and Ticket Sellers Union #751, where he was respected and admired by colleagues.

After retiring from the theater industry, Domenic and Rita relocated to Melbourne Beach, where they opened a prepared-foods restaurant. In his Florida years, he became a cherished member of the community and a devout parishioner at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Domenic’s Catholic faith anchored his life, and his generosity of heart extended to everyone he encountered.

Known for his quick wit, love of practical jokes, and gift for hospitality, Domenic was the consummate host. He treasured his afternoon happy hours by the pool and delighted in cooking for family and friends, showing off his culinary skills on the grill and in the kitchen while making sure every guest felt comfortable and cared for.
