Helen Joan Baghdassarian, of Melbourne, Florida, passed away peacefully on the 4th of August 2025.
Helen was the beloved wife of the late Dr. H. Jack Baghdassarian, with whom she shared 40 wonderful years of marriage. She is survived by Laura Davis, Valerie Deeks, Russell LoPresti, Charles Davis, Brian Davis, Courtney Deeks and William LoPresti. She was predeceased by her cherished sisters, Barbara LoPresti and Joan Bendis.
Born in Indiana, Pennsylvania, to the late William V. and Mary A. (Wislocki) Bendis, Helen grew up in a close-knit coal mining town. She graduated from Elders Ridge High School, where she loved singing in the choir and spending time with her sisters.
Helen earned her nursing degree from Temple University and later a degree in Psychology from the University of Florida. Her career in nursing and her life as a military spouse took her across the country, including time in Maryland, Nevada, Texas, and finally Florida.
Helen was known for her vibrant personality, deep faith, and love of travel, gardening, and animals. She was a devoted aunt, a loyal friend, and a woman of great warmth and generosity.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 10:30 am until the time of her Funeral Mass at 11 am on Thursday, September 25, 2025 at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, 3050 North Highway A1A, Indialantic, Florida. She will be laid to rest with her husband in Saltsburg, Pennsylvania.
