Merdeline “Merdie” Khan

It is with deep respect and Christian hope that I remember Sister Merdeline Khan, who fell asleep in the Lord on November 25, 2025, at the blessed age of 94. I had the privilege of serving as her pastor at the Flushing Seventh-day Adventist Church in Queens, New York, from 1996 to 2000, during which time she was a faithful and devoted member. Sister Merdeline lived with strong biblical convictions firmly rooted in God’s Word. She was a positive and uplifting influence on her family, especially her beloved grandchildren, Andre and Kerrian, and on the entire church community. She was a woman of unwavering principles, and her life was marked by constant, sincere prayer for those she loved. Today she rests in the Lord, having seen the fruits of many answered prayers. It was truly a joy to be her pastor, to know her personally, and to witness her steadfast faith. I am deeply grateful that God allowed our paths to cross on this earth, until we shall meet again at His soon coming. As the apostle Paul wrote, she indeed fought the good fight, finished the race, and kept the faith. On behalf of myself and my family, I extend my heartfelt condolences to her entire family. May the comforting promises of Scripture surround you with peace and hope. Revelation 21:1–4 “Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and there is no longer any sea. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, ‘Behold, the tabernacle of God is among the people, and He will dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them, and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away.’”
