Raymund J. Dawson, 90, of Melbourne, FL, formerly of Manchester, CT, and born in
Peterborough, England passed away suddenly, Monday, November 10, 2025, at his home in Melbourne.
Ray proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. for four years where he was a corporal. His years of service included a tour in the Korean War. After being honorably discharged, he built a career as a hairstylist for the past 70 years.
He was a man of strong faith and served as a Eucharistic minister at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Melbourne and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Ray was predeceased by his parents, Clifford and Ethel Dawson of Peterborough, England, and his sisters, Cecilia Dawson Castellani and Margaret Judson.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 70 years, Annamae Richards Dawson, his son, Stephen (Adriene) Dawson of Stamford, CT, daughter, Deborah (Robert) Zetwick of West Melbourne, FL., and grandsons, Peter and Luke Dawson of Stamford, CT. He is also survived by his nephews, Richard and Gary Castellani of CT, Tony and Paul Judson of England and niece, Patricia Smith, also of England. He will also be greatly missed by his cherished little bird, Abby.
Ray lived a full life and will always be remembered by many for his friendliness and affection toward all.
Services will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Melbourne, Florida on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 beginning at 1:30 PM. Interment will be at Cape Canaveral National
Cemetery in Mims, Fl., on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at IOAM with Military Honors.
