Robert R. Ritter
Bob Ritter was born in the Bronx, New York, but spent most of his childhood in Floral Park, New York. He moved to Florida with his family in 1963. His father was recruited to be one of the original participants in the Space Program at Cape Canaveral, Florida. Bob graduated from Melbourne High School in 1963. He then enlisted in the Army and was in the Special Forces for two years. After the Army, Bob attended the University of Louisville, where he graduated with honors with a degree in Psychology. While at the University of Louisville, Bob boxed in the Golden Gloves. Bob pursued his education at West Georgia College, graduating with a master’s degree in 1976. After graduating, Bob moved to Rockledge, where he worked with troubled teenagers at Brevard County Mental Health. Bob took a position as a Probation Officer for the State of Florida and worked there for 25 years until he retired.
Throughout his life, Bob was an enthusiast of all sports; he loved a good game of baseball, handball, hockey, and tennis. He developed a love of jazz at a young age, leading to a lifetime playing the clarinet. During his last years, Bob wrote music
that he published on YouTube under the name of “Robert Bob Ritter, The Art of Clazzical”.
Bob is survived by his daughter, Brandy Ritter Gonzalez, her husband, Anthony, and two grandchildren, River and Isla. He leaves three sisters: Barbara, Deborah, and Madeline and their families.
A Celebration of Life will be held on May 7th, 2023 from 2 pm -5 pm Location – Rockledge Garden Club 1493 Fiske Blvd, Rockledge, FL 32955
