Ann S. Meeks
Passed on January 1, 2025 in Rockledge, Florida
Sadly, our beloved Ann S. Meeks, 84, passed away on January 01, 2025. She was born in Johnson City, Tennessee, on August 7, 1940, to Milton Sluder and Clellie Widener Sluder. She graduated from Science Hill High School in Johnson City.
She moved to Melbourne, Florida in 1962, where, before retiring, she worked mainly as a technical typist. She enjoyed reading, word search puzzles, sitcoms, snacking on vanilla ice cream, and being with her husband and family.
She was predeceased by her parents; three sisters Peggy Marie Sluder, Carol Sluder Kelley, and Patsy Sluder Horne and a son, James Meeks III.
She is survived by the love of her life—her husband James E. Meeks Jr.; two brothers William “Bill” Sluder and John Sluder; her sons Scott (Susan Cummings) Meeks and Robert (Jolene) Meeks; and daughters Felecia (Rod) Phipps and Samantha (Jim) Reddish. She also leaves behind a brokenhearted, supportive group of relatives, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, a great-grandson, and countless friends.
She had an impact on each person she interacted with. She was giving, inspirational, kind, loving, funny, and full of joy, which showed us what can be accomplished with determination yet kindness.
A memorial service will be held January 9, 2025 at 1:30 p.m. with visitation 1 hour prior to the time of service at Brownlie – Maxwell Funeral Home in Melbourne, Florida. She will be laid to rest at Pinecrest Cemetery, Cocoa, Florida.
She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
In memory of Ann, the family requests donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project:
