Beverly Vaughan
Beverly Vaughan passed away peacefully on February 13th 2024 at the age of 91 at Harborside at Melbourne ALF & Memory Care in Melbourne, Florida after having congestive heart failure that she never recovered from. Beverly was very active throughout her life and will be missed by many family and friends.
Family will receive friends and family On Wednesday, February 28th from 2 PM to 3 PM at Brownlie Maxwell Funeral Home in Melbourne, Florida. Located at 1010 Palmetto Avenue, Melbourne, Fl. 32901. Following the visitation a memorial service will be given at the funeral home. All family and friends are welcome. The burial will be immediately afterwards at 1st Church of Melbourne (formerly First United Methodist of Melbourne) in the Memory Gardens. Beverly’s wishes were to be placed next to her former husband Clifford (John Henry) Vaughan. The family requests that family only attend the burial.
Beverly was born on February 8th, 1933 in Waterloo, NY. She came to Melbourne, Florida in 1952 and began a life here. She spent some years raising her 2 boys and doing various jobs. She then went to work for Rockwell Collins Aerospace where she worked her way up to supervisor. She spent 25 years there where she made numerous friends. After retirement she and her husband John Henry spent a number of years traveling in their camper, going all the way to Alaska and many other places around the United States and Canada. She was also a member of the First United Methodist church for many years and a volunteer for over 15 years at both Holmes Regional Medical Center and at the Maxwell C. King Center for Performing Arts.
She is survived by her oldest son John Michael (Mike) Carter (Tammy Carter) and son Rick J Carter (Judith Carter), Grandchildren Jeremy Carter (Christina Ross), Brennan (Amber) Carter, Kelsey (Danny) Carter Richards, Christie (Micah) Carter Albert, Lindsay (Tony) Carter-Cross; Step Grandchildren John (Abbie) Ward and sister Virginia Ward and several great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews and loving friends.
She was predeceased by her husband Clifford (John Henry) Vaughan and also former husband John Alexander Carter; parents Harold and Ina M. Salisbury McDougall; brother’s Keith Brownell and Harold Brownell and sister Doris (Kay) Gleason and nephew Mark Gleason.

In lieu of flowers other items they can use are adult coloring books and color pencils and also jig saw puzzles with larger pieces or donations to purchase these items. These things do a lot of good for the residents there.
