Departed June 26, 2024 in Palm Bay, Florida

Deborah Ann (Helms) Cromwell, of Palm Bay, passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 26, 2024 in her home. She was 69 years old.

The eldest of 5 children born to Dolores Wilkins Helms and Eugene Helms, Sr., Deborah was born on December 28, 1954 in Middletown, New York and lived most of her life either in or near the town of Pine Bush, New York. She graduated from Pine Bush High School in 1973 and married her husband, Richard Cromwell, in 1981.

Spending most of her adult life as a homemaker, she was a loving, caring, and truly selfless person who constantly made sacrifices for her family to have a better life. Residing in Pine Bush until she moved to Florida in 2013, Deborah was a beloved source of support and inspiration across multiple generations of her family and her loss has been immensely felt by us all.

Deborah is survived by her husband of 42 years, Richard; one son Matthew Cromwell; brothers Eugene Helms, II (Gloria) and Michael Helms; as well as many cherished nieces and nephews Eugene Helms III (Kimberly), Amanda Helms, Cody Helms, Jill Totten (Billy), Annmarie Weale (Steven), Dustin Helms, Travis Helms (Amanda), Michael Helms, and Kaleigh Helms, in addition to several great-nieces and great-nephews and extended family.

Deborah was predeceased by both of her parents; sister Dawn Helms; nephew Justin Helms, and sister-in-law Brynn Helms. Since her death, she has been joined in her passing by her brother Steve Helms.

Services will be private and held at a future date in Deborah’s hometown of Pine Bush, New York.
