James A Frankenfield
James (Jim) Frankenfield, formerly of Allentown Pa passed away peacefully in Melbourne Fla at the age of 92. Jim was born on August 13th, 1931, in Easton Pa. He was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Mary Claire Frankenfield (Harley), his brother Parke Frankenfield, and by his parents Theodore R Frankenfield and Grace L Schaffer Frankenfield. Jim enlisted in the United States Army in 1952 and was stationed in Greenland during the Korean War for a year. He was honorably discharged in 1954. Jim was a retired flight instructor pilot having built his own experimental biplane and won second place in Oshkosh. Jim was a talented artist and musician. He played several instruments but was especially skilled with the saxophone and often played in his brother’s band in Pennsylvania. He loved attending local concerts in the Melbourne area, attending Sunday School and functions at his church. Jim was also quite the handyman and could be counted on to fix or build most anything. He and his wife built their home in West Melbourne Fla. Jim is survived by his five stepchildren, Diane Naberhaus (Harley), William Harley, Kathleen Varnadore (Harley), Daniel Harley and Christine Celetti (Harley).He is also survived by many grandchildren. He loved attending family gatherings and could always be counted on for lively conversation and creating memories.
After a brief memorial with the immediate family Jim will be interred next to his beloved wife at Cedar Hill Memorial Cemetery in Allentown Pa.
