John Wayne Tuttle
John Wayne Tuttle, 76, of Indialantic, Florida went to Heaven on July 15, 2025, at home with his loving family at his side. John was born on November 29, 1948 in Winchester, Kentucky, the son of Marcus and Carrie Tuttle. John married his high school sweetheart Karlene in 1969. After graduating from Morehead State University, he was a teacher and football coach at Paul Blazer High School for seven years. John moved to Florida with his family in 1980. He was a teacher and coach of football, baseball, and golf at Palm Bay High School before becoming the Assistant Principal in charge of discipline. Coach Tuttle led his 1985 baseball team to the state championship. Following Palm Bay High School, he was Assistant Principal at Cocoa Beach High, Principal at Mila Elementary, Principal at Southwest Middle School, and Principal at Bayside High. He helped design and build Heritage High School, and after graduating the first senior class, after 40 years in education, Principal Tuttle retired. John was also a notorious basketball referee, reffing several State Tournament championship games. He was an avid golfer who could shoot his age and also shares a hole in one plaque with his son Lance and grandson Cole at Spessard Holland Golf Course.
John was preceded in death by his parents and older brother Mark. John is survived by his wife Karlene of 55 years, son Lance (Tammy), daughter Brooke (Chad), ten grandchildren Rylee, Carli, Cole, Caden, Remi, Hunter, Hudson, Halyn, Halle, Heidi, and sister Connie Parent (Rex).
A celebration of life for our beloved John will be held on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at 2:00pm, at the Melbourne Church of Christ, 810 Hollywood Boulevard. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you donate to the Melbourne Church of Christ.
