Juanita “Nita” Liddy

Born on December 16, 1934 in East St. Louis, Illinois
Departed January 11, 2023 in Palm Bay, Florida

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Juanita “Nita” Liddy at age 88. She was a beautiful and beloved daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother (aka GGMa), and friend to many.

Nita is survived by her sister Ester Bauer, brother Butch Rasch, and her three children Carol, Bob and Trisha. She was the proud grandmother of five grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years Leslie William “Bill” Liddy.

An avid reader of romance novels, Nita enjoyed nature, her garden, and despite not knowing how to swim, loved being on the water fishing and looking for lobster. She also volunteered weekly at the Palm Bay Public Library for more than 25 years.

A member of the First Baptist Church of Melbourne for more than 60 years, Nita faithfully attended Sunday School and could usually be found sitting in the back row at the worship service.

A celebration of her life is planned.
Please consider donations in her memory to First Health Foundation (for William Childs Hospice House in memory of Juanita Liddy) 1350 South Hickory Street, Melbourne, Florida 32901.

You were such an amazing grandmother/mother. I love you so much. I hope you and granddaddy are dancing in sky. You mean so much to me and always have. I don't know what else to say except you tore my heart out when we said goodbye. I love you forever and always. Your little worm 🐛
