Linda Meachum

Born on October 1, 1957 in Lincoln, Illinois
Departed on July 11, 2025 in Melbourne, Florida

Linda was an avid surfer through high school and started her working career at Kennedy Space Center while she went to school to become an X-Ray Technologist. Just for fun, she also went to school to become a certified draftsman, emulating her mother’s profession. She finished her bachelors while living in three different states, and eventually worked her way into doing radiation therapy.

She spent a couple of years living the Conch life in Key West where she moonlighted as a SCUBA instructor when she wasn’t working at the hospital. Eventually, after she earned her master’s degree in Nuclear Physics, she became one of the elite few who do radiation dosimetry. She received an offer from the company in Las Vegas that builds the radiation therapy equipment, and traveled the world teaching radiation therapists how to use the equipment.

Linda dove the Caymen Islands and Barbados, loved the Canadian countryside, and hiked the Rockies. A daddy’s girl, she was a kind and overly generous soul, a strong advocate for animals. She lived with a succession of furry companions her entire life. After returning to Florida to retire, she worked at a local university as the head of the Physics Department until it became necessary for her to fully retire.
