Margaret Elaine Carroll (aka Sissy) was born in Eustis, Florida on April 18, 1946. She went to heaven on February 18, 2025. She is survived by her brother Mike Carroll (Linda) of Melbourne, Florida, sister Deborah Langston (Cliff) of Umatilla, Florida and several nieces and nephews and cousins.
She is predeceased by her parents Hurdis and Laura Carroll; her sister Sandra Daniels and her brothers Gene Carroll and James Carroll.
Sissy was a very loving and kind person who never met a stranger. She would greet everyone with a smile and open arms, regardless of who it was, and give them the biggest hug they’d ever had. She enjoyed doing puzzles, coloring and making small crafts to give to her family. She loved to fish and to travel. She also loved to eat with “pie” being her favorite.
She reached a milestone in her journey by living to the age of 78 with Down Syndrome.
She enjoyed going to church, raising her hands toward heaven, and singing any song with the word hallelujah in it. It just was a challenge sometimes to keep her hands in her lap and her voice silent so she didn’t interrupt the sermons.
A special thanks goes to the staff of Health First Hospice of Brevard for their loving care and kindness during the last two years. Also a special thanks to Joe’s Club of Melbourne and the staff of ARC Woodsmere group home who provided her love and care and support for many years.
The service to celebrate her life is scheduled for Saturday February 22, 2025 at 4:30 pm at Brownlie Maxwell Funeral Home, 1010 E. Palmetto Avenue, Melbourne 32901. Burial will be in Bonifay, Florida alongside her parents.
