Mary Lucille (Frost) Clements

Passed February 15, 2025 in Indian Harbour Beach, Florida
Mary Lucille Clements, age 91, passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2025, at Zon Beachside, Indian Harbour Beach, Florida. Born January 12, 1934 in Vidalia, Georgia, she was the daughter of Clyde and Mary Ann (Radford) Frost.
Shortly after Lucy’s birth, the Frost family relocated to Polk County, Florida, settling among the citrus groves of Alturas. Upon graduation from Bartow High School in 1952, Lucy worked as a clerk in the Office of Veterans Affairs in Bartow.
In Bartow, Lucy met Lt. Charles Clements, USAF. Chuck graduated from flight school in Class “R” at Bartow Air Base in 1954, and was assigned to the Strategic Air Command, serving at bases in the US and Africa. Lucy and Chuck married in Alturas on June 12, 1954 and moved to their first assignment in Texas.
After leaving active duty, Chuck and Lucy returned to Florida, settling in Eau Gallie. Lucy accepted a position with RCA at Patrick Air Force Base in the late 1950s, retiring from Computer Sciences Raytheon as a Sr. Admin in Communications & Timing at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in 1995. In the 1970s and 1980s, Lucy worked as a Teacher Aid for Brevard Public Schools, working at Johnson Junior High and Croton, Roy Allen, Lockmar, and Meadowlane Elementary Schools. She was selected Senior Volunteer of the Year twice for her support of Sherwood Elementary following her retirement.
Together, Lucy and Chuck were active Florida citrus growers, with groves in Polk and Hillsborough counties, tending them full time during retirement.
Lucy is survived by daughter Suzie (Jeff) Raines, grandchildren Kendall (Garrett) Lollis and Chelsea Clements, sister Johnnie Mae Hahn, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Lucy is predeceased by her parents; Chuck, her husband of 63 years; her son Charles (Charlie) Clements, Jr.; siblings Juanita Voigt and Howard Frost; brothers-in-law Wilbert “Bunk” Voigt and Stanley Hahn; and sister-in-law Evalina McIntosh Frost.
Many thanks to the Zon Beachside Memory Care and Wuesthoff Brevard Hospice & Palliative Care teams for their loving care and compassion during Lucy’s residency. The support provided Lucy and our family was tremendous and we are forever grateful.
Private graveside services were held, with internment at Florida Memorial Gardens, Rockledge, Florida.
