Maurice (Moe) C. LaPage

It is with a heavy heart to say that Maurice (Moe) C. LaPage of Melbourne passed away on March 27, 2025. He was surrounded by his family.
He was born in Fort Covington, New York on August 13, 1941 to Arthur and Helen (Trippany) LaPage. He moved to New Britain, Connecticut in his twenties where he met and married Elizabeth (Betsy) Dutkiewicz. The moved to Berlin, Connecticut and raised three children. He was a member of the Berlin Fire Department prior to employment at Hartford Provision where he worked until 1988. They then moved to Melbourne, Florida and he worked for the city of Vero Beach until he was medically retired. After he and Betsy divorced, he moved to Tennessee and back to Melbourne in 2018.
He was an avid fisherman, especially snook. Moe was also a giant country music fan, loving the oldies. He enjoyed going to the firehouse to play cards with friends. Moe also collected comic books and loved going to the auction and the flea market. He had a booth in both Tennessee and Florida. Moe was a people person and loved conversing with them. His 1956 Ford Crown Victoria was his biggest love. Restoring it was his pride and joy. A big Elvis Presley fan, both his music and movies delighted him. He loved to sit on his porch and watch the ducks in the pond behind his house.
Moe was predeceased by his parents, two brothers Howard and Bernard; his son Michael and his former spouse Betsy.
He is survived by his sister Judy Duerr; his two daughters Michele LaPage and Suzanne Sherman, all of Melbourne. He is also survived by two grandchildren Brittany (Sherman) Cooper of Texas and William Sherman, IV of Melbourne as well as two great grandchildren McKenzie Withrow-Sherman of Melbourne and James Cooper of Texas. Several nieces and nephews also survive. He was loved and will be missed.
