Monica and Jim moved to Palm Bay in November 1960. Jim began work in the space industry while Monica, a busy, young mother of two and soon expecting Timothy, made a home for their family. Monica was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and long-time volunteer at St. Joseph Catholic School and St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry in Palm Bay. She retired in 1997 after 19 years as Housekeeping Supervisor at Bethesda Retirement Home. “Monnie”, as her family affectionately referred to her, enjoyed acting in family comedy videos, was always ready for road trips, (especially to Del’s for ice cream), and baked the best lemon meringue pies. Summer trips to Ohio to visit extended family and family camping trips are fond memories for her children and grandchildren. Although Monica faced several serious health challenges in her later years, she did so with exceptional grace, incredible faith and unmatched determination.
