Ricky Neil Hover
August 26, 1960 – March 16, 2025

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Rick Hover (64), a devoted son, brother, father, grandfather and friend whose love for life was contagious. He was born on August 26, 1960 in Newfoundland, Canada to Vernon and Sally Hover. His father was a retired US Air Force CMSgt so he grew up in Canada, Thailand, Florida, Washington and New York. He moved to Florida in 1986 and spent his career in computer/IT management and sales. He brought joy, laughter and warmth to everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Rick was the proud father of his two daughters, Ashley and Nicole, and the beloved G-Pa of Lucas, Liam, Theo, and Nori. His greatest pride and joy in life was his family and he cherished every moment spent with his children and grandchildren.

An avid golfer, Rick found peace and happiness on the links, where he spent countless hours perfecting his swing and enjoying the camaraderie of the game. He was also the life of the party- his humor, optimism, and larger-than-life personality could light up any room. A proud American, Rick held a deep love for his country and took great pride in his patriotism.

Rick’s spirit, laughter, and unwavering love for his family will be deeply missed but never forgotten. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those who loved him. He is survived by his brother Scott (Carla) Hover, daughters Nicole (Steve) Yarbrough and Ashley (Ryan) Collins and his grandchildren Liam, Lucas, Theo and Nori, as well as precious extended family and friends.

Family and friends may call at Brownlie Maxwell Funeral Home on Saturday, March 29, 2025 from 9 am until the time of his service at 10 am; burial will be at Fountainhead Memorial Park at 11:30 am. A celebration of his life will be at Chumley’s from 1:00- 3:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Aloha Pet and Bird Hospital or the local Humane Society:
