Born on November 19, 1959 in Eau Gallie, Florida
Passed on April 11, 2026 in Palm Bay, Florida
Robert Mitchell McPherson, 66, died on April 11, 2026 at Palm Bay Hospital in Palm Bay, Florida. He was a true Florida native being born and raised in Eau Gallie (now Melbourne), Florida. He loved fishing in ponds, lakes, rivers and the ocean, and enjoying the outdoors, including backpacking in Yosemite National Park and hiking the hills of Appalachian Ohio. He loved all animals, from his little Jack Russell Terrier Lacy to nurturing his baby cockatoo by bottle feeding it. Robert enjoyed reading immensely, especially by authors Edgar Allan Poe and Steven King. His book collection was impressive. He was an original heavy-metal head. Black Sabbath was his favorite band growing up but his genres evolved as he did. He had a long career as a quality inspector with L3Harris and was a trusted and loyal employee. He lived in California in his early adult years, then moved to Ohio where he realized he was not built for the cold. So back to Florida he went, where he was preceded in death by his true love Sara; wife of 34 years. Sara filled his life with great home cooking, children, grandchildren and finally a great grand baby. They traveled to Colorado and Tennessee and met Sara’s sisters. They all shared mutual admiration and good times. Robert impacted his sister Sharon’s life profoundly by making it possible for reunification of her oldest child, Kristin. It would not have been possible if not for Robert. Also allowing another man to raise his boy as his own was a hard decision but one he did for the best welfare of his precious child at the time. Robert also was Sara’s main care giver at her end of life and she and her family members were truly grateful for his commitment to her care. Both Robert and Sara McPherson are sorely missed yet are a match made in heaven still.

Robert was uncle to his sister Sharon’s 4 sons: Josh Spagel, Justin Spagel, Russell Spagel & Andy Spagel and daughters Kristin Polidoro & Casarah Spagel. He leaves behind his great nephews Joshua, Keenan, Anthony, Nathaniel, Kadin, Khoury, Braden & Cameron. As well as great nieces Cheyanne, Madison, Josalyn, & Trinity. Robert grew up with lots of family from Ohio, Maryland, Alabama and Florida. Now it extends across the country to Colorado, California & Oregon. He is always and forever dearly beloved.

Robert was my cousin but more like a big brother. When he came to live with us for awhile he introduced me to al the fantastic records he had. We spent a lot of time together listening to music and playing cards. As we grew older and lived in different places with busy lives we didn't get to see each other much but when we did it was as if we had only been apart a day. I know he will be alright reunited with Sarah and his parents and all our family especially granny R and grandpa R. Until we meet again you will always be in my heart ❤️ someday we are going to have the greatest family reunion ever. I love you big brother ❤️

Though I had minimal interactions with Robert. The reflections of his character were evident in those who loved him. Sometimes the challenges of life cast heavy shadows, causing us to loose sight of Hope in our despair. Robert's burden has been lifted as he walks the path of light and love.

Brother, it was a privilege to watch you grow older, get married, build a good life for you and Sara, and accept yourself for who you are. You should always know that all of us still here are right behind you given the timescale of the universe. I know you've reached a sense of peace, finally, and can rest and reunite with those who've passed before you. I'm sure Grandma is so happy to see you again. Thanks for the love you gave while you were here, and I'll see you both when I get there. Hugs and love to you always.

My beloved brother, Robert. I treasurer the memories you've given me and I'm so grateful for the care you showed me growing up. You were my bubby, my protector, my comforter, my teacher, my friend, and confidant. You made it possible for Kristin and I to be reunited and also for Christopher, your son, to be united with his west coast family. I can remember when you were baptized and it scared me as your little sister. Now it helps my spirit to know you are truly free and get to experience the full measure of God's peace and glory. I'm sad, yet grateful God shared you with me as my big brother. You are Home now and safe and sound. 🌺
