Departed August 24, 2024 in Palm Bay, Florida

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Virginia Carleen (Norton) Jones, who passed on peacefully with her children at her side on August 24, 2024, at the age of 88.

Born on July 18, 1936, in Summerville, Georgia to Clifford A. Norton and Lula E. (Skinner) Norton, she later moved to Melbourne, Florida where she lived for over sixty years. She was a devoted mother to her children, and a dedicated Christian woman who was a founding member of Heritage Baptist Church in West Melbourne, Florida.

Virginia was a kind and generous soul, always putting others’ needs before her own. She loved to sing in the church choir at both Bethany Baptist Church and Heritage Baptist Church. Her love and compassion extended to all those who knew her, and she will be remembered for her beautiful smile and loving personality.

She is survived by her children Luther L. Crane Jr., Phillip M. Crane and Debra L. Crane; her grandchild Shawn M. Crane; great-grandchild Michael L. Crane; her many nieces and nephews; as well as a wide extended family who will all miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her son Michael A. Crane.

A funeral service will be held for her on August 30, 2024, at Heritage Baptist Church located at 700 Hollywood Boulevard, West Melbourne, Florida 32904. A viewing will be held at 10:30 am at the church, followed by the service at 11:00 am.

Rest in peace, mom. You will forever be in our hearts and memories.
