Louis Joseph Failla, affectionately known as Lou, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 29, 2024, at the age of 92.

Born on March 3, 1931, in Orange, NJ, he was the son of the late Joseph and Lucy Failla. Raised in Connecticut, he graduated from Darien High School in 1949, before proudly serving his country in the US Navy. During the Korean War, Louis served as an aircraft mechanic in the V3G Division, on the USS Antietam from 1950-1953. After which, he led a long successful career in the printing industry.

On February 28, 1960, Louis married his beloved wife, Barbara Ann Eberhardt in Wilton, CT. The two were lifelong companions and were blessed with three sons: Richard, Douglas, and Glen. They lived in Melbourne Beach, FL for 40 years, where Lou was a cherished member of the community, serving on the Planning and Zoning Committee for several years. An avid reader of historical novels, Louis also enjoyed golfing, fishing, and yard work. He was known for his quick wit and humor. He took great pride in his three boys and his grandchildren. Louis was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, neighbor and friend.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Ann Failla (Eberhardt); three sons, Richard of Shelton, CT, Douglas (Lesa) of Columbia, SC, and Glen of Portland, OR; his grandchildren Matthew (Heather) and Megan (David); great-grandchildren Lucy, Sophie and Tennessee. He is also survived by his brother Paul (Janet) and sister Anne (Roger), along with countless nephews, nieces, friends and loved ones.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Joseph and Lucy Failla, and sister Sophia Lynn Failla.

Louis Joseph Failla will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. His stories, wisdom, and warmth of his company will be missed by all who knew him.
