David Stoddard Johnson

David Johnson, age 75, suddenly passed away at home from a recently diagnosed illness on August
13, 2026.

David’s family moved to Pompano Beach, Florida around 1960. After graduating high school, David attended the University of Florida and graduated from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Fl. with a bachelors degree in music theory and psychology. In 1973, he went to work with his dad and learned the sprinkler and well water treatment business. He then started his own company in that business in Broward County Florida while living in Davie Florida. In 1980, David accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and Lord and started his walk of following him.

In the summer of 1989, he met his wife, Marcia and they were married in October 1990. In late November of 1990, they moved to Palm Bay Florida where David started his business of David’s Water Systems serving Brevard and Indian River counties for 34 years. He had a stellar reputation of serving his customers with excellence, with his problem-solving skills and integrity.

In August 1991, A main desire of David’s heart was fulfilled with the birth of his son, Daniel.

In 2000, he earned his masters degree in mental health counseling at Webster University in Melbourne, Florida. In 2002, he then earned his Doctorate degree through an online course with Southern California University. He became a licensed mental health counselor and worked with different agencies for the past 28 years, including Volunteers Of America, as a clinical program director In Cocoa, Florida for five years, where they housed veterans and assisted them in many ways.
David was active in his church, along with his wife, Marcia, at Zion Christian church In Palm Bay for 13 years, playing saxophone and piano with worship band.

David and Marcia started attending Calvary Chapel of Melbourne in 2003.
He joined their prison ministry band that traveled throughout Florida to different prisons to minister to the inmates.

In 2005, he was accepted Into Calvary Chapel’s first school of ministry and received his certificate of completion in March, 2007. David then started serving on the worship team, playing piano for most of the last 20 years.

In April, 2024 he sold his business, but kept servicing his customers while training the new owner for 18 months.

In 2025, the Florida Certification Board certified him, through his Restoration Family Academy as an approved Education Provider. Thankfully, he did complete training his first class to become certified Peer Revovery Specialist just recently.

Most recently, this year, 2026, he went to work for Evolving Hope Counseling as an online licensed mental health therapist with a focus on biblical counseling.

David will be lovingly remembered for sharing his faith with biblical truth, his dedication to serving and helping others succeed, his generosity, his sense of humor and being a loving and kind hearted husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. His greatest attribute was his faith and trust in Jesus Christ with a deep desire to fulfill God’s purpose and plan for his life! We believe, he will hear “well done, good and faithful servant” and is now enjoying the benefits and rewards for his faith and his service.
Celebration of life service was held on August 20, 2026, at Calvary Chapel Melbourne and his body laid to rest in the Chapel of Peace at Florida Memorial Park in Rockledge Florida.

He was predeceased by his father, George Johnson, his mother, Catherine Johnson, and his sister, Judy Valicenti. He was survived by his wife, Marcia, his son Daniel, and his siblings, Nancy Brownlow, Richard (Jane) Johnson and Cathy (Jack) Prenner. Nephews and nieces; Cristie Barone, Mark Johnson, Robyn Phipps, Paul Roepnack, Bryant Roepnack, Sara Kim, Ryan Brownlow, Brooke Brownlow, Andy Valicenti and Lindsay LaRosa.
