Marjorie Rose Smith
Marjorie Rose Smith, 94 of Palm Bay, Florida peacefully went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 9, 2026.
She will be fondly remembered for her sweet smile, gentle demeanor, and adventurous spirit.
Marjorie was born in Springfield, Ohio where, as a young teen she worked in the hospital making meals before and after school. Later she worked at a diner where she met the love of her life, Thomas E. Smith in Kenton, Ohio. A few years after they married, they moved their growing family to Florida. They became members of Saint Joseph Catholic Church where she volunteered her time at the Miller Street Church. She also candled eggs on the Lafferty Farm, worked at the Publix bakery and later volunteered at the St. Vincent de Paul food pantry. Her hobbies included playing the piano, sewing, baking, puzzles, crafting, nature walks and even whitewater rafting. Above all those things family is what mattered the most to her.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Tom of 72 years and her daughters Teresa Smith and Rosemary Stallings; her son, Mark Smith; parents Alva and Genevieve Edman, sister Carolyn Thompson (John), brothers Jim Edman (Monica), and Joe Edman.
She will be lovingly remembered by:
Children: Michael Smith (Sandra), Son-in-Law Richard Stallings, Andrew Smith (Robyn), Patrick Smith (Cathy), Daughter-in-Law Lori Smith, Kathleen Sherepita (John).
Grandchildren: Lyle Smith (Kaylee), Sharla Batby (David), Corrie Hoots (Chris), Erin Smith (Justin), Lauren Ann Stallings, Danielle Nader (Howard), David Smith (Kathleen), Steven Smith (Audrey), Joshua Smith, Jacob Smith, Nicholas Sherepita and Logan Sherepita.
Great Grandchildren: Julianna and Conner Smith; Corbin Robertson; Matthew and Jason Batby; Riley (Victoria), Evan, and Kaylynn Hoots; Zachary, Daniel, Bethany, Adalyn Smith; Grant and Jensen Nader; Evie Smith.
Sister-in-Law, Joan Edman, along with many nieces and nephews, and friends from Brookdale Assisted Living of Melbourne.
Calling hours and wake service will be Tuesday, January 13th from 5 to 7 p.m. at Brownlie-Maxwell Funeral Home 1010 E. Palmetto Ave., Melbourne, FL. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, January 14th at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 5330 Babcock St NE, Palm Bay, FL. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Miller Street, 1422 Miller Street NE, Palm Bay, FL.
