Timothy (Tim) Thomas Haley
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Timothy Thomas Haley, a man known for his big smile, generous and loving heart, competitive spirit, and tremendous faith. Tim was born on December 13, 1940, and passed away peacefully on March 19, 2026, in Melbourne, Florida. He was 85 years old.
Tim was born in Isabella, Pennsylvania to parents Eugene and Julia Haley. At age 5, his family moved to Ferndale, Michigan. Tim attended and graduated from St. James High School, where he excelled in basketball, baseball, and football. He loved other sports as well; including golf where he caddied for many years at the Oakland Hills Country Club. He later would take up golf as his favorite hobby. Tim married the love of his life, Jeanette, on August 24, 1963. They were married for 63 years. They had four children, which were Tim’s greatest pride and joy. Tim’s devotion to his family inspired him to be an ambitious lifelong learner pursuing various roles as he climbed the corporate ladder at Ford Motor Company, his place of employment and service for 32 years, where he was known for his work ethic, kindness, and commitment to others.
He was a strong believer in serving his community. He gave generously of his time to his church. He volunteered as the Athletic Director for the CYO elementary sports program, Eucharistic Minister, and a Lector at church masses. He was also a member of the Knight’s of Columbus. He was a coach for baseball, softball, and basketball where he touched many lives with his wisdom, leadership, and winning spirit.
Tim loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, and travel.
He mostly cherished his time with his family and friends. Tim touched the lives of everyone who had the honor of knowing him. His selflessness, warmth, and generous spirit will be remembered forever. His big smile and hearty laugh will be greatly missed.
Tim is preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Julia Haley and his sisters Janet Samelle and Patricia Ingmanson.
He is survived by his loving wife Jeanette, his children Timothy Haley II, Sara Gudzinski (Greg), Jennifer Casebolt (Scott), Christine Haley, and grandchildren Halle, Hunter, Elisabeth, and Emily. His siblings Eugene Haley (Cynthia), Michael Haley (Marilyn), and Bridget Martin (Chris), along with other family and friends who will sadly miss him.
Tim will lie in state at 9:00 am at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Melbourne, Florida on Wednesday, March 25, 2026. His Funeral Mass will follow at 10 a.m. Burial will immediately follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery where he will be laid to rest.
