Jackie L. Young
Jackie Young was born on November 3, 1953 in Melbourne, Florida and passed away at home on May
9, 2026 in Melbourne, Florida.
Jackie was born in Melbourne and remained a resident of June Park in West Melbourne her entire life.
She attended Meadowlane Elementary, Central Jr High and Melbourne High School.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, James Young of Melbourne, daughter Tammy Young of
Melbourne, son Donald Lassiter of West Melbourne, two granddaughters Kaitlyn Lassiter of
Melbourne and Hannah Didion of Jacksonville, and 2 sisters Judy Woodring of Palm Bay, and Barbara
Narez of California.
She was a caring, funny, energetic, and outgoing woman which made her career as a bartender and bar
owner her dream job. She enjoyed entertaining and spreading cheer to everyone she met.
She was a breast cancer survivor and an avid animal lover.
She loved spending time with her children and granddaughters. She loved to host weekly family
dinners, birthday gatherings, and the holidays. Family was her everything.
She was the best wife, mother, and grandmother anyone could have ever asked for, she will be greatly
missed by all.
Services will be held on Friday, May 15, 2026 at 6pm, calling hours are 5-7pm at Brownlie
Maxwell Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at 11:00am at the
Melbourne Cemetery on Hibiscus Blvd.
