Paul Floyd Patterson, 92, of Melbourne, Florida, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2026, following a brief illness. He leaves behind a legacy of love, family, and friendship.

Paul was born on June 13, 1934, in Olean, New York. He graduated from Olean High School in 1953 and served in the United States Air Force from 1953 to 1959. In 1961, he graduated from Tri-State College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering. That same year, he met and married the love of his life, Sheila Murray of Portville, New York. Together, they built a wonderful life centered around family and lasting memories.

In 1972, Paul and his family moved to Melbourne Beach, Florida, where he began a career with Harris Semiconductor and later Intersil retiring in 2002.

Paul was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and his family was the greatest source of pride and joy in his life. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sheila. He is survived by his children, Steve (Trish), Sharon (Mike), and Dawn (Mike); his six grandchildren, Stephen, Tyler (Tia), Kaitlin (Jesse), Brooke (Will), PJ (Makenzie), and Samantha; and his four great-grandchildren, Savannah, Hayley, SJ, and Asher. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Carol Murray, cousin, Gretchen Peterson, nephews Bob, Dave, Rick and Dan Dimicco.

Paul enjoyed a full and happy life. He and Sheila loved to travel, creating memories together and sharing adventures with their children, including trips to the Florida Keys and many weekend camping excursions. He had a warm heart, a strong sense of family, and an appreciation for the simple joys of spending time with the people he loved.

His love, guidance, humor, and steady presence will remain a part of his family for generations to come. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

In lieu of a traditional service, a private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
