Sandra Platt

SANDRA PLATT, 80, of Melbourne, Florida died peacefully on February 17, 2022.

Born on May 14, 1941. She was the daughter of the late George R. and Margery Smith. She grew up in Lorain, Ohio and at the age of 17 moved with her family to Eau Gallie, Florida. On April 4, 1959, she was married to Cecil R. (Pud) Platt and they were continuously married until his death on October 5, 2014.

Sandy worked at Petty=s Meats both at the Melbourne store and the Suntree store where you could find her welcoming customers and assisting them with any gift item or meal planning that they needed. She worked there until 1996 when she left to go to work for her son, Jack, at his law office where she worked until her retirement in 2012. Sandy enjoyed reading and watching television but most of all she enjoyed being a grandmother.

She is survived by her brother, Richard Smith (Sharon) and three children, Jack Platt (Cathie), Dan Platt (Shari) and Margery Rebensky (Paul), as well as seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

A viewing will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, February 28, 2022 at Brownlie Maxwell Funeral Home in Melbourne, Florida. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to be made to The Haven for Children.
