He was a retired electrical engineer and served honorably in the United States Navy.

Philip is survived by his wife Linda Kratzer; son Philip R. (Michele) Kratzer II; daughter Nancy (Harry) Lachner; grandchildren Christina, Marissa, Nicolas, and Emily;
great-grandchildren Xavier, Izayah, Jaleena, Gioni and Evan; brother Allen (Sandra) Kratzer; sister Diana Flynn as well as nieces and nephews.

His Memorial Service will be Saturday, August 6, at 3:00 pm at Joy Lutheran Church, 3174 Jupiter Boulevard, SE, Palm Bay, Florida 32909.
