Papa . . . You were the best Daddy a little girl could ask for . . . Letting me follow you around to watch you work on the cars (or when I got older making gingersnaps for you while you changed my oil), gardening with you to tend the food for the family, and helping me landscape my yard. Yes, you were a quiet man, but I always told my children that when you shared something to listen up because it was something important that needed to be said and/or heard. I miss you . . . You left me to take care and watch over the love of your life. I will do my best and make you proud. I love you forever . . ..

I met Mr. Hoeper about 30 years ago through his daughter (my friend), Julie. He impressed me as being a very pleasant man, on the quiet side - an observer of people. He listened well and studied others. That is a skill that many do not possess. God gave him two eyes, two ears, and one voice and he used those gifts in their respective proportions very well. Such a wise and gentle man! A gem.
