Herbert McMahan, 84 passed peacefully on January 24, 2024, surrounded by family.
Herb was born in South Bend, IN to Herbert G and Kathryn McMahan. Herb attended Westville High School. Later, Herb attended Ball State University and was a member of the Men’s Varsity swimming team and Theta Chi Fraternity. After graduating from college, Herb moved east to Newport, Rhode Island where he taught school. He eventually settled in his beloved Marblehead, Massachusetts.
Herb was an avid reader, spending hours turning pages by authors such as Stuart Woods and Jack Higgins. Herb was also a huge New England sports fan and loved talking about the Patriots, Red Sox, and Bruins with his family.
Herb is survived by his wife of 46 years Dale (Wright), his three sons Robert (Wife Jen), Christian (wife Ariane) and T.J. (wife Jenn) his daughter Nicki (Williams and Husband Steve) and 6 grandchildren Keilly, Keegan, Avery, Jack and Liam McMahan and Devin Williams, as well as his beloved dog Jack.
