Joseph Brice Moore of Melbourne, Florida passed away peacefully at home on April 23, 2026 with his wife Chris by his side. Born on January 4, 1924 on a farm outside Millington, Maryland, he was the second youngest of seven children, the only boy.
He joined the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1942 where he became a decorated bomber pilot during WWII, flying the B-26 in combat mission over Nazi occupied France and Germany. He later flew combat missions in the Viet Nam war.
A career Air Force pilot, he was one of the original test pilots for the B-47, and also flew the B-52, B-58 and the C-130. He rose to the rank of Lt. Colonel, and proudly retired in 1973.
On September 3, 1971 he married he great love of his life, Chris, who was by his side for over 54 years. In retirement, he enjoyed time with his family, fishing, and listening to Hawaiian music.
He is survived by his wife, Chris, his son Joe Jr., daughter Beverly, grandsons Bryce and Jesse, granddaughters Joey and Laura, great-granddaughters Tatum and Lindsey, and great-grandson Jack.
He is preceded in death by son Gary, his parents Dudly and Maggie and his six sisters Sarah, Florence, Lillian, Pauline, Margaret, and Virginia.
