Lois Dyer

Born June 16, 1940 in Pottersville, New York
Passed September 28, 2024 in Cumming, Georgia

Lois Dyer, 84, of Palm Bay, Florida, gained her wings and went to be with our Lord on Saturday, September 28, 2024, surrounded by love and family. A lifelong resident of Palm Bay for over 83 years, Lois had two 20+ year careers and her best years as a Mother and Nana. Lois never met a stranger and lit up every room she was in. As many of you who knew her know, after her family, her favorite things were sitting on the porch, annual trips to the Mountains, dancing, margaritas and spending time with friends.

Lois was a great friend and coworker. Her first long term career was with Wackenhut Security at the Melbourne airport. She was TSA before TSA was a thing; having been recognized by the airlines for the great work she did. And her second career was making sure every Harris employee had a great day as she worked the cash register in the cafeteria with Sodexo. She took pride in making you smile and having higher sales than other cashiers.

However, Lois’s greatest achievement will be remembered as an incredible mom, nana to her own and others’ grandchildren, and a friend to all.

She is survived by her three children Debbie (Don) Burrows of Palm Bay, Florida, Glenn (Angela) Goad of Cumming, Georgia and Brian (Nazly) McLaughlin, of Alpharetta, Georgia; beloved grandchildren Corey, Mallary, Kennedy, and Rainey and great-grandchildren, Jordan and Joshua. She was preceded in death by her husband Howard; granddaughter Crystal her parents and her brothers and sisters.

On Friday, October 4, 2024, the family will welcome friends from 5 – 7 p.m. at Brownlie-Maxwell Funeral Home in Melbourne, Florida. A celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m. on October 5, 2024. Private family entombment will be at Fountainhead Memorial Park.

Over the past 20+ years I had the pleasure to enjoy visiting with Lois on multiple Goad family occasions. What a great woman to get to know and I quickly learned her devotion and loyalty to her loved ones. You can tell her influence on her children and grandchildren by their compassion and caring for others. I know her family will carry the torch of her love of life and people as they continue their own journey! Prayers to all !!

Nana Lois touched the lives of our family in so many beautiful ways. Our girls Aria and Aster were so lucky to spend time with her and to bask in the richness of her love and attention. We are thankful for the blessings she bestowed upon us, coupled with her positivity and boundless energy. Heavenly Father, comfort this wonderful family and bring them peace as they mourn the loss of their matriarch. Surround them with Your love and strength, and may they find solace in the memories they shared. Grant them courage to face the days ahead, knowing that You are with them every step of the way. Amen.
