Peter Isadore Hoffman, passed away Saturday, August 18, 2018 at the William Childs Hospice in Palm Bay. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Edith
(Hackett) Hoffman. He leaves behind one sister, Mary Herman of Betterton, Md.,three sons, David, Peter, and Ron; two daughters, Linda and Margie; 11 grandchildren;
6 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Pete was the youngest child of Frank and Ida Hoffman of Western New York. Born in Boston Hill, NY and raised on the family farm in West Valley, NY, Pete spent his formative
years learning how to farm and live off the land. In adulthood, Pete began a career as a carpenter, quickly becoming a foreman, and general construction superintendent.
Opportunity brought him south, where Pete established himself with his ability to construct and build anything he decided to undertake.
Active in his church and as the father of five, Pete enjoyed family time, and camping trips with his children and his beloved wife Edie. Pete was a
long time 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus, actively supported his local Parish, and was a volunteer fireman.
Retiring to Florida, Pete and Edie were active members of St. Joseph’s Parish and supported local programs for veterans.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 31, 9:30am at St. Joseph Miller Street Catholic Church, Palm Bay, with interment to follow.
