Roberta “Joan” Thompson, 80, passed away on September 6, 2018. Born in Baltimore, Maryland in 1938, Joan was raised in Rochester, New York and moved to Melbourne, Florida in the early 1960’s. She was active in the Eau Gallie Little League program in the 70’s, and a waitress at several Melbourne restaurants (Ar¬ies, Sea Room, The Clock, and Wags). Joan was a small business owner of Jamar Poodle Boutique and Joan’s Exotic Birds where she combined her love for breading poodles, raising exotic birds, fish and grooming dogs.
Joan is survived by her children, Jim Allen (Maggie), Mark Thompson (Katrina), and Chris Thompson (Erica); grandchildren, Katie Allen, Bryan Allen, Michael William Thompson, Michael Ray Thompson, and Ashley Thompson; great grandson, Kayden Grayson Millar. She was pre¬ceded in death by her husband, Clarence (Tommy) Thompson; father, Cecil Allen and mother, Marian Allen; and her siblings, Robert Allen, Walter Allen, and Loris Allen.
A private service will be held at a later date.
