Leroy Jorden

Born July 17, 1942 in Oakfield, Georgia
Departed October 26, 2023 in Melbourne, Florida

Leroy Jorden was born to the late Ethel Jorden and Zelv Jones on July 17, 1942 in Oakfield Georgia. He departed this earthly life on Thursday, October 26, 2023.

He lived his adult life in Brevard County between Melbourne and Palm Bay, Florida. A pioneer in his community; he owned Leroy and Son’s Stucco DBA Leroy Stucco. He was known as a great teacher to many as he shared his gift and love of stucco and home building. Through this passion and skill, he “fathered” many tradesmen, stucco companies, wire lath specialists and contractors that are still in practice today.

Leroy had a great love for the outdoors, football (Dallas Cowboys specifically), animals, hunting, horseback riding, fishing, singing, swimming, cooking, CB radio, gardening and loving on his family. His hobbies also included many many hours watching cars run in a loop (known as Nascar). He was a man with a deep, genuine belly laugh. He carried a great compassion for people and a love for the adventure of life. Known to open his home to those in need, he also was quick to extend some quick-witted advice and a warm meal.

He loved the Lord and saw to it that his children were raised in His word. He was once a part of a singing group named the Mighty Kings. And a King he was, in his community and amongst his family and friends. He was known as the Rubberband Man amongst his CB radio community and will be sorely missed.

He leaves to cherish his memories and legacy, the love of his life, Cindy Jorden. His children are Elodeous “Tina” Price, Leroy Jorden Jr (Lucinda), D. Renia Jorden, Rodney Jorden (Lartesha “Tish”), Roger Jorden (Socha), L. Michelle Jorden, and honorary son Jeffrey George; his sister Ethel “Honey” Young (Thomas) and a host of devoted grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and Godchildren.

“The legacy of heroes is the memory of a great name and the inheritance of a great example.”
– Benjamin Disraeli
