Don Brantley Harp, 76, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2024 at the Sebastian River Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 12, 1947 in Aurora, Illinois to Ermie Prince Ferguson and Leon Harp Sr.
Don was a beloved father, grandfather-to-be, brother, companion, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He is survived by two daughters Rebecca Harp of San Diego, California and Erica Harp (Andrew) Pisacano of Denver, Colorado; and two siblings Leon Harp, Jr. of Florida and Lea Angela (Nicholas) Keierleber of Porterfield, Wisconsin. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Throughout his life, Don was known for his work ethic and love of the Lord. He was a United States Marine Corps Vietnam War Veteran and Purple Heart recipient. His passion for praising the Lord through his musical abilities on the trumpet brought joy to those around him, and his kindness and generosity touched the lives of many.
Don was a pillar of strength and wisdom for his family, always offering guidance and support. His legacy of love and compassion will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. He took immense pride in his family, especially his daughters, Rebecca and Erica. His unwavering support and encouragement were evident in every milestone they achieved and every endeavor they pursued. He cherished the moments spent with his family, creating lasting memories filled with love and laughter.
A memorial service will be held in honor of Don at Eau Gallie First Baptist, on April 5, 2024 at 11:00 am. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am. He will be buried at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery with military honors at 2:00 pm. Family and friends are invited to attend and celebrate his remarkable life.
He will forever remain in our hearts.
