Born on June 18, 1927, in Newark, New Jersey, she grew up in Bridgeport, Connecticut, graduated Bassick High School and attended Upsala College in New Jersey where she was active in theater. Bea was a devoted mother who made every day all about her three children who were affectionally referred to as “pumpkin.” She worked tirelessly to create special memories for birthdays, holidays, and party nights. Christmas shopping began in June and was by far one of her favorite activities. Playing cards and games with her children and grandchildren was a real joy for her. “Mommy” looked forward to watching football and golf with her son Craig and celebrating New Year’s Eve on Frank Sinatra night at Petrillo’s with he and his wife, Audrey. She took the train to California for many years spending extended time with her daughter, Lee and her family plus playing bingo and visiting Las Vegas. She and her youngest daughter Peggy were best friends and enjoyed traveling together on Caribbean cruises, numerous road trips and everyday adventures.
The birth of her twin grandsons, Eric and Aaron, was a highlight in her life. They remember her as always making them feel special and loved. “Choo-Choo Grandma” as her granddaughter, Michele called her remembers lunches packed for the beach, road trips and stopping for the rain.
Bea worked for the Connecticut Unemployment Office for many years and then as a realtor in Connecticut and Florida until she retired. She loved the beach and spent endless time there with her children and grandchildren. She was fun loving, a great dancer and enjoyed dining out. Lady Luck smiled on her repeatedly as she enjoyed her many winnings at the games of chance. Her ability to make you feel special will be deeply missed. A private memorial will be held for the immediate family.
