In Loving Memory of Marie Clairisse Etienne
Affectionately known as “Kéké”
July 4, 1929 – April 11, 2025

With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life well-lived, we announce the passing of Marie Clairisse Etienne, lovingly known as Kéké, who departed this world on Friday, April 11, 2025, at the age of 95.

Born on July 4, 1929, in Jérémie, Haiti, Kéké immigrated to the United States in 1992, to reunite with her children. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and faithful friend to many.

Kéké was the proud matriarch of her family, dedicating her life to nurturing and uplifting those around her. Known affectionately as the neighborhood counselor, and leader, her wisdom and warmth reached far beyond the walls of her home. She was a source of comfort, strength, and unconditional love to all who knew her.

A lifelong and faithful Catholic, Kéké lived her life anchored in prayer and devotion. Her favorite saying, “Jesus dévan, Mary dèyè ” (“Jesus in front, Mary behind”), was not only a reflection of her unwavering faith but also a guiding light for how she lived—with grace, humility, and purpose.

She is survived by her four loving children: Marie, Mimose, Mercedes, and Monet. She was preceded in death by her cherished daughter, Kethly. Her legacy continues through her nine grandchildren—Natalie, Vladimir, Gina, Antoine, Jude, Marvin, Calvin, Waley, and Charlene—and fourteen great-grandchildren. Special acknowledgement to Laura Lubin, Marise Brittin, Kethlie Fortune, Cemise Louis, and Brent Phillips.

Her Funeral Mass will be on Friday, May 2, 2025 with a collation at 11:30 am, followed by her viewing from 12:30 pm until the time of her Funeral Mass at 1:30 pm at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 300 Malabar Road, SE, Palm Bay, FL 32907. Burial will follow at Saint Joseph Cemetery, 1422 Miller Street, Palm Bay, FL 32905.

Kéké will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her love, faith, and the countless lives she touched.
