Georgina Lesley Garfield (Grinnell), 79, formerly of Millerton, PA, passed away on April 17, 2026, in Melbourne, FL.
Born on July 6, 1946, in Elmira, NY, to Lester Henry and Georgia Elizabeth Grinnell (Wilson). She was once a secretary and bookkeeper. But her most meaningful role in life was caring for her grandchildren and great-niece, Alicia Benjamin, whom she loved dearly. Georgina was a unique force of nature—deeply caring, wonderfully funny, and famously stubborn.
She is reunited in peace with her beloved husband, Joseph Garfield; her parents; and her siblings, Darlene Benjamin and Todd Grinnell.
Her memory will be cherished by her children, Sherri Long (Snyder), Clint (Sue) Snyder, and Steve (Lori) Snyder; her grandchildren, Ashley Long, Aaron Snyder, Emily Snyder, Samuel Snyder, and Zachary Lowery; and her great-grandchildren, Payton Lowery, Bailey Lowery, Tymberlyn Revels and Wyatt Snyder. She is also survived by her brother, Michael (Rosemary) Grinnell; her sister, Susan (Thomas) Reed; and many loving nieces and nephews.
The family will hold a celebration of life at a later date, with details to be announced.
