Jerrold Keith Carnes passed away on January 31, 2026 at his home in Palm Bay, Florida.

Jerry was born January 10, 1979 in Melbourne, Florida. He was raised in the family of the Presbyterian Church of the Good Shepherd. As a child he was active in Boy Scouts, Little League Baseball, Bowling, Soccer and Softball. He was a member of the Palm Bay High School golf team and played viola in both the school’s orchestra and the Brevard Symphony Youth Orchestra.

He graduated from Eckerd College in 2001 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and a minor in Business. During his four years at Eckerd he sang tenor in the school’s concert choir. Jerry had deep faith in God and a strong love of family. He enjoyed sports of all kinds. He was a big fan of both the University of Oklahoma Sooners and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He had a passion for music especially singing. He unconditionally loved his niece and nephew and enjoyed watching Bella and Colt play softball, baseball and football. Jerry worked for various organizations, including Artimis IT and Orion 180, in multiple industries as a Computer Programmer.

Jerry is survived by Michael Carnes Sr (father), Melanie (Brown) Carnes (mother), Michael Carnes Jr. (brother), Amanda Carnes (sister-in-law), Bella Faith Carnes (niece), Colt Michael Carnes (nephew and God-Son), Jennifer Falcioni (best friend/“sister”), numerous cousins, aunts, uncles – including his God-Father Wayne Carnes – and many friends.

In Lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to the Memorial Fund of the Presbyterian Church of the Good Shepherd, designated for use in the music program.

A Memorial Service celebrating of Jerry’s life and praising Glory to God will be held on February 14th at 3PM at the Presbyterian Church of the Good Shepherd, 810 West Florida Avenue, Melbourne Florida. Officiating will be Dr. D. Scott Worth and Jerry’s cousin, Pastor Carl Carnes. His remains will be placed in the Good Shepherd Memorial Garden at a later date with a private family gathering.
