Lisa Josephine Broussard

Born on November 23, 1963 Pittsburg, Pennsylvania
Passed on May 1, 2026 in Melbourne, Florida

Originally raised in New Castle, Pennsylvania. As a child Lisa and her family went on several summer vacations including Yellowstone and California. At 17 her family moved to Hollywood Florida. After graduation she moved to Ormond Beach before settling down in Melbourne. This love of travel continued through her young adulthood: trips include Orlando, Fort Myers, Fort Pierce, Cedar Key, St. Augustine, and Pensacola. Outside of Florida her travels include trips to extended family in Louisiana, Maryland and Indiana.

In 1984 she entered her first marriage and became a mother. In 1990 she remarried and welcomed a second child in 1992.

Lisa was a dedicated and engaged parent, emphasizing education and extracurricular activities for her children. She volunteered as group leader and support for many youth organizations including scouts, sports and academic clubs.

This passion for education inspired her to complete her college education in teaching from the University of Central Florida. Lisa’s career gave her opportunities to work for a number of charter schools, her field of focus on elementary aged children and neurodiverse adults. Her longest role was as an educator for Easter Seals.

In her free time Lisa enjoyed winding down with favored television programs. She was sentimental with beloved children’s holiday specials and shorts such as Dr. Seuss and Peanuts. Some of her favorite movies include Beatlejuice, A Christmas Story, Planet of the Apes, and Elf.

On weekends Lisa was excited by hunts for yard sales and trips to favored thrift stores. She was a savvy shopper but also enjoyed discovering new tools for the classroom or comforts for home.

Lisa’s favorite style of food was Italian cuisine. She was fond of her ice teas, slushies and energy drinks. She was also slowly being won over to the side of dessert coffee drinks, though plenty confused by names and types.

She enjoyed a wide range of music from classics of her youth to popular tunes of the 2000s. Bob Seger was by far her favorite musician.

In her younger years Lisa adored teddy bears, amassing a respectable collection of plush and ceramics. This habit continued into later life with the addition of her newest favorite animal, the sloth.

Lisa was born to parents Peter and Loretta Jaworski, with siblings Pete, Kimberly and Christopher. She is survived by her husband Nathan, children Ben and Sammy, and grandchild Madison, as well as many cherished friends.
