Judith Gladyes Vickers passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, June 28, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Judith was born on June 18, 1936, in Charlton, Ontario, Canada, where she grew up working on her family’s farm, with her parents Osborne and Grace Jackson and eleven siblings. She later married and supported her family as a military spouse, raising her four children—Christine, Ricky(deceased), Cynthia, and Jeffrey—while living on numerous U.S. military bases throughout the country.
In 1971, Judith made Melbourne, Florida, her permanent home and began a remarkable career as a cosmetologist. She trained in Toronto, Chicago, and at the prestigious Vidal Sassoon Academy in London before opening Judith International Hairstyling Salon on Fifth Avenue in Indialantic.
For 48 years, Judith stood behind her styling chair with dedication and grace. She did far more than create beautiful hairstyles—she listened with compassion, shared in life’s joys and sorrows, offered encouragement, and built lasting friendships with generations of clients. Her salon was a place of warmth, trust, laughter, and transformation, and the lives she touched extended far beyond her profession.
In 1992, Judith married the love of her life, Harry Vickers. Together they built a beautiful home on the golf course in Suntree, where they shared many happy years. Judith remained an active member of Suntree Country Club, enjoying golf, social activities, and the many friendships she cultivated there. She was also a member of Faith Viera Lutheran Church, where her faith continued to guide her throughout her life.
Judith will be deeply missed by her beloved husband of 34 years, Harry Vickers; her children, Cindy Cayton (Mike), Jeff Congdon (Jeannette), and Christine Adair (Bill); her 6 grandchildren, Stacey Griffith Price (Stephen), Charlie Griffith, Jesse Griffith (Andrea), Jeffrey Congdon (Samantha), Bart Knight, Angela Knight; and many great-grandchildren, including Gabriella, Grayson, Sebastian, Charlize, Ayden, Liam, Henry, Mabel, Edward, and Lucas.
A celebration of Judith’s life will be held on Friday, July 10, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Faith Viera Lutheran Church, 5550 Faith Drive, Rockledge, Florida 32955. The family will receive friends beginning at 9:30 a.m., one hour prior to the service.
Judith’s kindness, strength, generosity, and unwavering love for her family and friends will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched with her caring spirit and beautiful smile.
