Helen Brode Michaels, was born May 11, 1933, in Frostburg, Maryland, one of eight siblings. She lived a life marked by fierce love, unwavering loyalty, and a dry sense of humor with impeccable timing.
On May 9, 1964, Helen married the late William Michaels, and in 1977 made Brevard their home. Together, they raised three children: Cindy Michaels; Valerie (Dave) Kenworthy; and Steve (Sepeed) Michaels and built a life filled with family, laughter, and countless cherished memories.
Helen’s greatest joy was her family. In addition to her children, she leaves behind her beautiful grandchildren: Madison (Aaron) Rainey, Delaney (Trey Smith) Kenworthy, Preston Michaels, Peyton Michaels, and Lillian Michaels-Moore; as well as four great-grandchildren, Emrey Kenworthy(8), Bowen Smith(2), Beckett Smith (5months), and Marlowe Rainey (1).
On October 27, 2026 Helen passed peacefully at home, surrounded by her family and supported by the compassionate Hospice of Health First team.
Mommom was the glue that held our family together; she never let anything come before the happiness of those she loved. She loved fiercely, lived each day authentically with a stubborn heart full of love.
A Celebration of Life will be held for friends and family at a later date. Brownlie Maxwell Funeral Home is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to Hospice of Health First 1350 Hickory Street Melbourne, FL 32901
