Cynthia Ann Thornhill, 56, of Melbourne, Florida died on Tuesday, December 8, 2020
surrounded by her family. Born in Winter Haven, Florida, April 25, 1964, Cindy was known since
childhood for her unique perspective on the world, viewing life through art, astronomy, math,
and epic fantasy literature. As a teenager and young adult, crossword puzzles were boring in
her opinion and Cindy would instead opt to while away her hours creating and identifying
calculus differential formulas for her own entertainment.

Cindy later attended University of Central Florida, receiving a BA in Graphic Design in 1994. As a
Melbourne resident since 1985, Cindy explored many career paths over the years but her
passions were three dimensional art, graphic design and drawing. Many family and friends
were the recipients of her personal creations of weaved materials, sculptures, and other one-of-
a-kind objects she would make from the heart for the people she loved.

Cindy lived with the effects following surgery for a difficult brain tumor at age 18. Knowing she
survived that procedure, it allowed her to approach life in an optimistic fearless manner that
should give us all pause. Never afraid and enjoying many good years until recently, she
persevered until the very end.

She is survived by her parents, Harrison Thornhill of Winter Haven, Florida and Ann Kinnison
Thornhill of Bartow, Florida; brother H. Lee Thornhill, Jr. of Boston, Massachusetts; sisters Doris
Thornhill of Melbourne, Florida and Katherine Thornhill of Winter Haven Florida; stepmother
Helen Bolt Thornhill of Winter Haven, Florida; stepsisters Cindy Palmisano and her husband Bill
of Tampa, Florida and Tiffany Bolt of Tampa, Florida.; and brother-in-law Wm. Jacob Murray III, DMD of
Boston, Massachusetts; and coparent to kitties Snoops, Cali and Tigger.

The family would life to offer their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the nursing and medical
staff of Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne. Cindy was a familiar face to many of
them and their presence and compassion made Cindy’s journey as safe and comforting as
possible.

Friends may call at Brownlie Maxwell Funeral Home, 1010 E. Palmetto Avenue, Melbourne, FL
on Saturday, December 12, 2020 from 2 pm until time of service at 3 pm. In lieu of flowers,
the family wishes to help support nursing scholarships via the Holmes Regional Medical Center
“Health First Foundation”. Contributions may be made at:Health First Foundation
and selecting “Nursing Scholarship” as the donation

It was great having met Cindy with my good friend and her sister Doris, who have done such an extraordinary and wonderful job caring for and being the sister and caregiver . May God bless all the family at this time in their loss, but especially Doris my friend, know that away from this body, presence with father God. Much Love girl❤️.

Cindy always had a corny joke to tell you..." how do you catch a unique rabbit...you... unique ..up on it." Yes, there were many and she loved to tell them. Cindy had a special way of communicating with children and always took an opportunity to make a little one smile. Cindy always showed respect and shared a kind word with anyone she encountered. Cindy loved her fur babies Cali, Snoops and Tigs, she spoiled them. She would always take notice of the small critters outside and seemed to have genuine joy at watching them play. I will miss Cindys unique perspective on life, her quirky jokes and the way she could ruffle her sisters feathers.
