Susan Nason Swilley
SWILLEY, Susan Nason, 62, of Indialantic, FL, formerly of Land O’ Lakes, FL, Rockville, MD, and Cherry Hill, NJ passed away Thursday, April 8, 2021. The family is ever so grateful for all the nurses, doctors, and caregivers at Holmes Regional Hospital for providing excellent care and making sure she was surrounded by family as she passed from this life to the next. She is pre-deceased by her loving husband, Lynn Clyde Swilley and her mother Patricia Woodward Nason. She is survived by two children, Clayton Swilley (Ashleigh) and Joshua Swilley (Sasha) of Lutz, FL, her father, George F. Nason (Carolyn), her sister, Nancy Nason Guss (Bernard) of Land O’ Lakes, FL, and two brothers: G. Frank Nason (Sherrie), of Suwanee, GA, and Peter Neil Nason of Wesley Chapel, FL; and three grandchildren, Hayden, Riley, and Jaxon Swilley. She is also survived by nephew Kristian Guss (Dreama), niece Luyushu Nason, and loving partner, James Roland.
She graduated with a BS in nursing from the University of South Florida and was a Melbourne High School graduate, class of 1976. Susan was a career nurse and a hospital supervisor at Town and Country Hospital in Tampa for decades before retiring a few years ago. After retiring, she became an artist, creating sculptures with dolls and found/discarded objects. Her art extended to decorating her home, which was an expression of her whimsy and wit. Susan found fun and comfort in her many collections of dolls, boxes, miniatures, magic, and masks and was a free spirit who would dance or burst into song at any time. She loved her music and had a beautiful singing voice. She lived in Middle Earth and adored elves, wizards, hobbits, and dwarves. Sweet Sue! Funny, silly, witty, and whimsical – she caught the little details and changed them to take on lives of their own; especially lines from movies, songs, television theme songs, and books.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Melbourne, and she and the family are eternally thankful for their love, support, and prayers as she journeyed in and out of hospitals. Although she was chronically ill and in pain these past few years, her hope and love inspired all who met her. She will be missed.
“I’m glad to be with you…here at the end of all things.”
– Frodo

Fantasy and Fairy Tales
Elves and Tinker Bells
Sparkles, miracles, and magic
A bit of Morticia
Mixed with Galadriel
The Macabre and the glorious
Helter Skelter and Gilligan
The biggest heart in the world
Complex, kind, and compassionate.
The world has lost a touch of light
Lifted to Heaven on the wings of eagles
And the prayers of family and friends
From all over the world.
She was a free spirit that transcended the prison of a body that kept her trapped.
Mother, wife, sister, daughter, nurse, aunt, grandmother, a friend to all.
An inspiration.
Loved so much by so many.
Courageous, hurt, broken, so sick,
And now eternally healed;
Out of pain, crying no longer,
Dancing, singing, and free.
Susan, be at peace.
