On Tuesday, December 7, 2021, Kathleen Lynn (Lashinger) Heilman, loving wife and mother of three children, passed away at age 63 in her hometown of Palm Bay, Florida.
Kathy was born on June 29, 1958 in Upper Darby, PA and married William Wayne Heilman in Grant, Florida on July 31,1977. Kathy was a “commoder”, having graduated from Eau Gallie High School in 1976. She worked for Harris/Intersil doing quality control for over 30 years before spending her last few working years managing inventory at Bass Pro Shops. Kathy loved to travel with some of her favorite trips being a vacation in Alaska in 1998, a “sisters” trip to Hawaii in 2000, and a Panama Canal cruise in 2018.
Kathy has been retired for the last few years and loved to binge watch shows, the gorier the better. She really enjoyed The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, and will be upset that she didn’t get to finish the new season of Dexter.
Grandma Kathy, or GK as she nicknamed herself, was an especially devoted grandmother. Her grandchildren always lit up with joy anytime she walked into the house. She gladly accepted running hugs from them, long past the point where it was safe for her to receive them. Because of this, her loss will be felt especially hard by the local ice cream shop owners and Rob the bounce house rental guy. We also will reflect longingly during this upcoming holiday season, which will be the final year that Santa’s presents are completely overshadowed by the volume of gifts coming from GK.
Kathy was preceded in death by her beloved dog, Sparky and is survived by her husband Bill; her three children, Billy (Lisa), Paula(Ian), and Amanda(Justin); six(soon to be seven) grandchildren, Victoria, Savannah, Buddy, Paige, James, Charlotte and Allison;and her sisters.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 18th, 2021 at the Brownlie & Maxwell Chapel in Melbourne, Florida at 11 o’clock a.m.
