Born June 12, 1947 in Rockledge, Florida
Departed April 21, 2022 in Melbourne, Florida
Marian LaVerne Bennett Carillet, age 74, died April 21, 2022 following a courageous battle with Frontotemporal lobe degeneration.
Born on June 12, 1947, in Rockledge, Florida she grew up in Melbourne, Florida and spent the last several years in Melbourne. In between, she lived many years in Georgia, Tennessee, Austria, Papua New Guinea, and Ukraine.
She was the daughter of Marvin and Marian Bennett; sister of Robert Bennett and Gary Wayne Bennett; mother of Joel Carillet and Tiffany Carillet; wife of Georges P. Carillet and a friend of all who knew her.
LaVerne was a graduate of Melbourne High School, a student at Atlanta Christian College, and a graduate of Milligan College with a degree in teaching. She taught elementary school for a few years before life and ministry took her to Austria, Papua New Guinea and Ukraine. She filled many different roles in these locations.
LaVerne was joyful. She had a contagious laugh and light in her eyes. She was kind, gracious, giving, considerate, thoughtful. Welcoming. Empathetic. Smart. Articulate. Creative. Humorous. Seeker of good. She was a listening ear, fountain of wisdom and source of comfort and joy. An avid reader, music lover, studier of words, their meanings and roots. Appreciator of symbolism and of art. Dream interpreter. Varied route taker. Scenery absorber. Gifted with a green thumb and never without plants. Teacher. Missionary. Homemaker. Chef. Hostess. Decorator, designer. Organizer. Bridge builder. Godly. She had a life full of stories and she was a great storyteller. Wonderful and beloved mom, friend, wife.
She will be greatly missed.

Beautiful tribute to her. It was a joy to see that LaVerne went with Georges, as the Lord guided in their lives. She was his helper in their walk together. She always showed a lovely spirit in it all. Our sympathies are with you who will continue to remember her.

Georges, Joel, & Tiffany, We remember LaVerne's hospitality and friendship and agree with your description of her. May the good memories always remain. May God be with you as you miss her and bless you with His comfort. We continue to keep in touch as we can and send our prayers for all of you.
LaVerne was a friend when I attended Eau Gallie Christian Church. She is a beautiful soul and excelllent companion for Georges, who became a friend and mentor to me while attending Atlanta Christian College.
I cherish the fact that we are all connected through our faith and hope in Jesus Christ and will spend eternity together.
I plan to meet all my loved ones (family and friends) at the Southern Gate on the Eastern Side... All God's children are welcome!
Laverne was a very interesting person to listen too. Her stories were fascinating. She was very sweet and also very funny.
Prayer for peace within for George and family.
I shall never forget one day while spending time with precious LaVerne and I was speaking to my Canadian family on the telephone with the speaker on. I was planning to have an apartment up in Canada and was communicating about needing a bed. LaVerne was quite far along with her FTD. Later that day she handed me a card with a small picture and a few words….. “Hope you get your bed” precious memories
of an awesome lady. TU George and PTL
