Emma Jean Johnson
Sister Emma Jean Johnson was born March 29, 1936 in Buena Vista, Georgia to the late Mose and Maude Terry. She was saved at an early age and baptized at Cool Springs Baptist Church under the ministry of Pastor J.W. Walker. Sister Johnson was a long-time dedicated member of Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend J.W. Driskell.
Emma Jean was a dedicated member of the church volunteering in the outreach program, kitchen committee, and the Tribe of Zebulon. She was an excellent cook and was no stranger to raising kids and adopting kids. Emma was employed as a house keeper until retirement.
Sister Emma Jean Johnson was the last of the living children of Mose and Maude Terry. She was proceeded in death by her parents; husband A.G. Johnson, daughter Saundra Thomas, and son-in-law Douglas Frank; seven brothers: Alton, Walter, Lewis, Tommy, Curtis, John Albert, and Hayward; and four sisters: Mozell, Elnoria, Annie Lois, and Mary Alice.
She leaves to cherish her memory two sons: J.B. Thomas and Tommy Thomas (Samella); two daughters: Carolyn Goodwin-Frank and Tekimbra Harris (Andrew); 16 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, her dearly devoted friend/daughter Larnette Ramsey, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Her viewing will be at Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church Saturday, October 1, 2022 from 10 am until time of her service at 11 am. Burial will be at Fountainhead Memorial Park at 3pm.
