Departed July 3, 2023 in Palm Bay, Florida

The most thoughtful, gentle, and loving husband, father, and grandfather went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, July 3, 2023. Barry Lentz, 86, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Palm Bay, Florida, his wife and daughter by his side.

Barry was born in Dallastown, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Stanley Lentz and Romaine P. Zeigler Lentz. He was a 1954 graduate of Red Lion High School, where he was active in the FFA. After graduation he continued working on the family farm in Felton, Pennsylvania and also worked as a school bus and charter bus driver. He then bought his own farm in Brogue, Pennsylvania and worked the land until 1971, when he moved his family to Red Lion, Pennsylvania and started driving a tractor trailer. He did that until moving to Palm Bay, Florida in 1992, where he worked for Kinco Window Company until he retired in 2004. But his first love was farming.

Barry is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Darlene Sechrist Lentz of Palm Bay, Florida and three children, daughter Noel Lentz of Palm Bay, Florida, son Kevin Lentz and his wife, Christine, of Sinking Spring, Pennsylvania, and son Michael Lentz and wife, Jennifer, of Grafton, Massachusetts. He also had 4 loving grandchildren Sara, Emily, Elizabeth, and Nicholas. He is also survived by sisters Norma Emenheiser of Red Lion, Pennsylvania and Faye Cathell and husband Norman of Berlin, Maryland, sister-in-law Pam Leos of Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kerrie and brother-in-laws Donald Emenheiser, Samuel Leos, and Larry Sechrist.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, July 13, 2023 at First United Methodist Church, 110 New Haven Avenue, Melbourne, Florida at 11:00 am with Pastors Terry Mulford and Craig Hammond officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Association.

May you rest in peace until we meet again.
