This morning I was saddened to learn of the passing of my good friend Al. Back in the 70s I was the golf coach at Mel Hi and he was the golf coach at Satellite. We were friendly rivals. But my greatest memory was a bet he and I had over a Mel Hi - Satellite football game. The beat was whomever won the game got to put a pie in the face of the other at the 50 yard line. For most of the game Satellite was winning but right at the end Mel Hi pulled out a win. Al in the good spirit he always was took the pie directly in the face. He was such a great person and made a difference in so many lives!
